Joseph Blatter announced that he will resign as president of the FIFA Extraordinary Congress of the Organization. This was announced by the Swiss at a press conference in Zurich.
"Careful thought of his presidency and how I had the last 40 years. They are closely related to FIFA and this wonderful sport football. I love FIFA want to do anything to develop football. I decided to sit for an election because I was confident that I can do many good things. But the challenges do not end. FIFA needs deep structural changes. My re-election was not supported by all stakeholders in football. Therefore, I took the following decision: it is necessary to hold an extraordinary congress to which I give up its powers. It should be organized as quickly as possible because the next congress will be held until May next year in Mexico, "said Blatter.
