Les parcs à thème ont le vent en poupe, ce n'est plus à démontrer. Mais il y a aussi un autre créneau sur lequel les propriétaires de licences peuvent surfer, c'est la restauration. On ne présente plus Les Simpson. Springfield regorge de bonnes idées pour se restaurer. Universal Studios l'a bien compris.
Les studios américains viennent ainsi d’ouvrir, en Californie bien sûr, un parc regroupant de nombreux restaurants et autres petits magasins directement inspirés de Springfield. L’occasion pour les fans de profiter d’un bon Krusty Burger avec une vraie Duff Beer, pour finir par un Donut de chez Lard Lad.
Et pour que l’expérience soit au rendez-vous, les bâtiments sont reconnaissables entre tous. La Brasserie Duff, la Taverne de Moe, le Lard Lad Donuts, le Krusty Burger, mais aussi le Chicken Shack de Cletus, le Phineas Q. Butterfat’s Ice Cream Parlour, tout y est, même le Kwik-E-Mart pour ramener des souvenirs.
