El intérprete estaba inconsciente y no respiraba cuando fue encontrado en su casa por los equipos de emergencia que se trasladaron hasta allí tras recibir una llamada de socorro

El actor estadounidense Robin Williams ha fallecido este lunes a los 63 años de edad en su vivienda en la localidad de Tiburon, ubicada en el condado de Marin, California, tal y como ha informado la Oficina del Sheriff del condado, que ha apuntado quesospecha que podría tratarse de un suicidio.
En su comunicado, la Policía ha indicado que la muerte podría haberse debido a un suicidio por asfixia, si bien ha resaltado que la investigación «ha de ser finalizada antes de que se saquen las conclusiones». Las pruebas forenses se llevarán a cabo durante la jornada del martes. «Una investigación en torno a la causa, forma y circunstancias de la muerte está en marcha. Las informaciones preliminares indican que Williams fue visto con vida en su residencia, en la que vive junto a su mujer, a las 22.00 horas (hora local) del 10 de agosto», ha indicado.
Asimismo, ha agregado que la Oficina del Sheriff recibió una llamada a las 11.55 horas (hora local) del lunes para informar de que un hombre adulto había sido localizado inconsciente y sin respirar en su vivienda en Tiburon. El actor ingresó el mes pasado en un centro de rehabilitación de Minnesota para recibir ayuda, si biensus representantes afirmaron que Williams no estaba consumiendo drogas o alcohol y que había acudido a la institución para «mejorar y centrarse» tras un calendario de trabajo más largo de lo habitual.
La esposa de Williams, Susan Schneider, ha publicado un comunicado en el que ha pedido privacidad tras el suceso, tal y como ha recogido la cadena de televisión estadounidense CNN. «He perdido a mi marido y mi mejor amigo, mientras que el mundo ha perdido a uno de sus artistas más queridos y uno de los seres humanos más bellos», ha dicho. «Estoy totalmente desconsolada. En nombre de la familia de Robin, pedimos privacidad durante nuestro periodo de profundo duelo. Esperamos que el foco no esté en la muerte de Robin, sino en los incontables momentos de felicidad y risa que dio a millones de personas», ha agregado.
