The Premier League club have not made a formal offer but have told the midfielder's representatives that they would be interested in a deal
Manchester City have made contact with Sergio Busquets’ representatives about a potential reunion with Pep Guardiola, according to Sport.
The report claims that City have not made a formal offer, but their move is seen as a ‘gesture’ to the Spain international in the event that he changes his mind and wants to leave Barcelona.
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has privately promised Busquets that he will be rewarded for his performances with a new contract, although the midfielder has yet to receive the offer.
The report also claims that Guardiola does not want City to try and force a Barcelona player to leave, but would happily sign a player should he wish to leave the club and providing Barca are open to a deal.
